Issues: Sex is a taboo to most people, especially for Oriental Chinese. It is difficult to directly talk about Sex in class hence difficult to do Sex Education. AIDS is much further. However, Sex and AIDS are closely related. One has to think carefully about executing a programme that youth can learn in a relaxing atmosphere. Youth have to be also elicited the reaction and feeling thus they can realize their own attitude. Teen AIDS develops the Interactive Model of AIDS/Sex Education on Youth. It employs games and art to advocate the objectives and provides a glimspe of hope to AIDS Education in Hong Kong and also other cities in Oriental context. Project: AIDS/Sex Education is a very humane topic involving attitude and value system. It should be acquired with our soul and body. The chalk-and-board pattern of one-way communication of education is not suitable in the context. The Model includes games that can impart knowledge in an interesting way; and it also includes arts that can impress them and stimulate them to find out the feeling and relationship of themselves and AIDS/Sex. This project is in workshop form including games, artistic performance and exhibition. Youth have to participate and initiate. Only by active learning does a person know what he acquires and what his feeling is on it. Results: More than 90% of the questionaire result show positive feedback. The youth were surprised that they can openly talk about AIDS/Sex in an interesting way, more willing to disclose their problems. Peer education can be done among youth. Teachers and youth workers start new programmes in schools and youth centres. Lesson Learnt: The Interactive Model provides a way interested by both youth and concerned adults. The youth can learn in a relaxing, happy and interactive atmosphere. Embarrassment is eased out. Personal feeling and attitude can be revealed. Trust is established. Even sometimes the hurt and pain can be shared among Chinese.
