BACKGROUND: CZX-AP possesses dual promoieties, resulting in well-balanced lipophilic and hydrophilic properties and good bioavailability. CZX-AP is currently under development in clinical phase 3 trials that include pediatric patients, and its pharmacokinetic profile is being analyzed. METHODS: A PPK was done of 2,547 blood samples obtained from 290 patients, ages from 7 months to 90 years. Pediatric patients were administered 3mg/kg CZX-AP granules and adult patients 100 mg tablets, twice daily, either before or after meals.
